HomePage
Welcome to Ozidev.com
Ozidev is being set up as a refence and journal site for numerous projects and interests I am currently involved in.
The general idea is to document not only information that may be helpful to others with similar interests, but also to show the various steps, and frustrations, along the way.
This site will change exstensively over the coming weeks, months, while I not only try to configure this site and server to behave the way I want, but also in trying to get my own thoughts and information into some kind of logical order.
Site Purpose
The purpose of this site, for me, is to document and organise data in the field of computers and programming in general, as well as be a place where ideas and thoughts can be expanded upon.
Like many people out there in iternet world, I am a tech and computer hobbiest and enthusiast, with various levels of skills in numerous fields. I'm not a professional tech guy and I don't claim to be an expert in any of the fields I tackle here.
As I find information that is relevant to what I am doing then I will post it here, so not only can I come back to it in 6 months time when I've forgotten the specifics, but also so others can have a look and may find it usefull.
The other purpose is that I am in the beginnings of a number of projects that I hope will not only improve my knowledge and skill in some tech areas but also enable me to expand on the knowledge and skills I have already obtained. These projects will be documented fully here together with references to the resources and information that helped along the way..
How to use this site
This site is using tikiwiki
which although I have had some issues with it, is generally suited for what I want at this stage.
The reason for using a Wiki, rather than a regular CMS or standard web page is its relatively eas to create pages and site structure.
Because I am creating this site on the fly, which is generally not considered the right way to do it, I find I can simply link and create a new page on the fly, and branch out etc with minimal effort and I can concentrate on getting the information documented. At a later stage I will probably redisign the site once a set site structure has been established.
Again I must state that this is definately not the done thing, with site design or creation, but as a whise man once said, "Got to start somewhere!"
There will also be a blog for my rants and views as well as a few programs and applications being developed.
There will be comments and feedback made available once I've sorted the server and basic site layout.
Numerous sections are currently being organised and prepared in readiness for the big update.
Stay tuned!
